Summer Riding Clinics

St. Timothy’s is pleased to be continuing the tradition of offering summer
instructional programs. We will be offering one-week sessions this summer focusing on general horsemanship skills and riding. Riders will groom, tack, ride, untack, bathe their horses, and clean their tack. There will also be general horsemanship instructions and demonstrations. Our “Showing” sessions will focus on IEA/ANRC/NCEA prep.
 
ENROLLMENT WILL BE LIMITED TO 5 RIDERS PER SESSION. RIDERS WILL BE LIMITED TO ENROLLING IN A MAXIMUM OF TWO WEEKS.

All Clinic participants must complete the forms included in the Clinic Information Packet: 2024 Summer Riding Clinic Application & Medical Report, Riding Program Participant Agreement, and Waiver Agreement.

Riding Fundamentals
Open to riders ages 5 and up, focus will be on introductory
horsemanship including handling, tacking, basic riding skills, and System
introduction. Riders will have one mounted session per day. 
This level will only be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Cost: $550/week

Basic Horsemanship
Open to riders ages 8 and up, focus will be on flatting skills,
position and control, introduction to jumping, and basic horsemanship skills. Riders will have one mounted session per day.

Showing, IEA/ANRC Prep
Open to riders who can flat independently, know leads and diagonals without looking, comfortable jumping crossrails to 2’. Focus will be on
strengthening position, understanding concepts of the System, introduction to riding out of the ring over terrain and over natural obstacles, with an introduction to showing.
Cost: $550/week
This level will only be offered as a p.m. session (12:30-3:30 p.m.).

For all Sessions
Riders may choose to ride a St. Timothy’s horse or you may bring your own horse. For each week, the lower level clinic will run from 9-12 noon, and the afternoon session will run from 12:30-3:30 p.m. A more detailed schedule for each week will be shared upon enrollment for each session. Riders are responsible for providing their own water. On Monday of each week, the groups may have a brief tour of campus with our Admissions staff during your session.
